Friday, December 4th Christmas Stroll
Thursday, December 31st New Year's Eve Annual Chamber Dinner and Dance
Christmas Stroll Friday, December 4th It's getting to be that time of year again! The annual town Christmas Stroll is right around the corner. This year it will be held on Friday, December 4th. Businesses around town will once again be hosting their own open houses throughout the day, complete with specials and sales, treats, and giveaways. Make sure to stop at all Jordan businesses and remember to shop locally this holiday season. The Garfield County Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will be hosting various activities throughout the day, with all events winding down at the Garfield County Bank and Jordan Insurance Chili Feed at the VFW Hall that evening. The Chamber will be holding a poker run, with various stops throughout town. To sign up, stop by Western Massage (owner-Kyle Weeding) on Main Street during the stroll, where you will receive your first card and a list of participating Chamber businesses. Participants will then collect their cards during the day and bring their final poker hands down to the Chili Feed, where a winner will be announced. Entry fee is $5 and open to everyone 18 and older. There will also be a coloring contest for all elementary aged children (including country schools and home school families) with winners being announced and all entries displayed that evening at the Chili Feed. The Chamber will also be hosting auctions during the Chili Feed to raise money for the town Christmas decoration fund, in memory of Jessie Ryan. There will be a silent auction and a live pie auction. Anyone wanting to donate items or stockings for the silent auction, may drop off their donations at anytime at Jordan Coffee & Gift Barn or bring to them VFW Hall at the beginning of the Chili Feed. Anyone looking to donate pies/desserts for the live pie auction are asked to bring them directly to the hall during the Chili Feed. Thanks to all of the generous donations from last years auctions, the Chamber was able to purchase new decorations that were set up on display on Main Street for all to see and enjoy. One new item that the Chamber has added this year, is an Ugly Christmas Sweater contest. All businesses are welcome to participate in dressing in their tackiest Christmas apparel all day during the stroll. All Christmas Stroll and Chili Feed patrons will then be able to vote on "Best Dressed" that evening at the Chili Feed, with winners receiving Chamber gift certificates. Mark your calendars and plan on enjoying these great activities for this year's Christmas Stroll!
